What matters?

Whether you follow astrology or not. Whether you follow the news or not. Whether you believe or not. Whether you wear a mask or not. Whether you smoke or drink or not. Whether you are married or single. What matters?

Why is it important to ask?

Because you matter. Everything you say and do, how you are in life, matters.

Because you are here for a reason. Because you have been blessed with the gift of choice. And that matters.

I fear the majority of the population doesn’t quite understand the power behind this gift, and that they’re letting it slip past them unnoticed. That fear hurts me. It invokes judgment and a slew of emotions and physiologies that do not serve me, that don’t align in me.

So what I have to do is become the greatest manager. And remind myself that I do so because I am meant to live as an example to others. I am not meant to force it unto them, but that they will see it in me if they want to understand it for themselves. Then and only then will I assist.

What’s happening is I am living the human experience. I become emotional. I have good days and I have not so good days. I get bloated, and urinary incontinence. I have difficulty sleeping. I ruminate on things. I have outbursts in response to things I don’t like. I have responsibilities and chores and projects to occupy me. I have work to do.

And I seek healing.

I use healing as my compass to direct me to the next intersection on my path. I’m walking in a great big labyrinth. Without becoming detective, I walk nonetheless. And I pause at each sign. And I still myself with it. And I check in with my guides to make sure I’m still performing in the way I am intended to be.

I am not sure what I desire, that’s the puzzle. Every time I think I figure it out, more illuminates and I advance toward it. It’s exciting, and at times I am unsure. This is why I must trust. And in order to trust, I must believe. Respect needs to be an equal exchange. Communication is vital – between me and the divine. There needs to be good reception and the channel needs to be clear and open.

When I have this, what matters becomes clear. And what matters belongs only to me, and you, and each of us, individually. There are no two that are the same or shared. We each have our own.

Are you awake to this?

Does that matter?

What matters now

What matters right now is support. Specifically, the quality of it. I am observing what’s coming up. Everyone has something going on, like always, but because of all of the uncertainty and changes to our way for being right now, it’s different. What matters to me is how we are navigating our feelings, managing our emotions, consulting with our beliefs, and exploring our options.

I’m asking: Will you know where the pain is coming from when the shift back-to arises? Will you understand what’s behind the hurt when you want to transfer it?, transmute it?, or transform it?
Do you now?

When you can no longer accept the hurt (because you won’t), when you are ready for the truth – transference, transmutation, and transformation of a different kind must happen if you are to come out of this on the other side from where you are now. Otherwise, no growth or development will happen.

When you’re ready for change, you will need to change with it, or, against it.

I understand all of this in a way that you may not understand (yet). I understand why you will need to come to terms with something that is bigger than you. Something deeper will have to take place that’s more serious, and more sustainable. You will need calm, not chaos, through this process. You will need more.

I have not been shy about it – I have already lived through a life changing event. I have been through a process, and I have been working on how to get my message about it to you. No, I never imagined that we would go through one together, but pretty early on in this pandemic I recognized that now is my time to speak up. I know how my experience will help.

I remember a point a few years ago after I started my recovery, when all I thought I wanted were my “old ways” back. I felt my life come back to me, and then that wasn’t enough. I kept going. I questioned what was so great about before anyway? Then I started watching myself grow past my expectations, and then some!

You can too. You will, too. You have to start somewhere. Understanding where all the hurt and pain and confusing emotions come from is what puts you into your recovery space.

If you aren’t thinking about the shift that’s going to happen, I suggest you start. The one thing I didn’t know then, and I can confirm for you now, is – start exploring how you want to be in front of it, what do you want this experience to mean for you?

This process of being human

There I was in the shower, completely exhausted. I’m not gonna make it I thought. I had zero energy left in me.

My arm is in a cast, and my cast is inside a waterproof cover for the shower. The cast is heavy, and my arm is just hanging there. I don’t have the energy to hold it against my belly. My good arm is also heavy. It’s tired and sore. It’s exhausted.

“Limb fatigue is a real thing“ Laura explained to me. She’s a PT, and was explaining to me that the arm I’m using is exhausted from using it so much.

I have limited range of motion. And it’s feeling like dead weight. It’s so sore I don’t even want to try to move it.

It’s been a few days and I need this shower. Since the cast has been on I’ve only had a few. While each one of those were welcomed and a relief, this one is not. I’m talking myself out of exiting the shower. I’m forcing myself to stand under the shower. I try to relax. Try to enjoy it, it’s a treat, I say. I think about a renowned meditation and awareness practice of allowing the water to wash away my stress and let it go down the drain. I don’t need my stress to go down the drain because I’m not feeling stress. What I’m feeling is exhaustion. I feel a century old, and as though not a minute of it has been spent asleep.

But I have slept. I’ve slept a lot. My body is healing.

I don’t want to but I make myself take soap to my skin. The soap feels like it’s 20 pounds heavy. I feel as though I’m pushing 5000 tons of machinery across a field. Usually I finish my showers with two minutes of cold to balance my nervous system and to draw my energy back in. I seriously consider skipping it. I just want out.

When I was done I just stood there. My head was hung low and I made absolutely no attempt. In a whisper I said to my mother “I can’t dry myself. You have to do it.”

She put my hair in the turban, and then she dried my body. We took the precautions of removing the cast cover and I returned to my bed.

I’m not weak. I just don’t have any strength.

And so I am reminded that I am mortal. I am reminded that our bodies get worn. Today, I am not independent. No matter what my calendar says, no matter what my responsibilities and commitments are, or what my agenda is, I must rest myself.

It takes great courage to be one with this process of being human, and not fight it. To see yourself so vulnerable, to feel yourself so vulnerable. It takes courage to be in your truth and to be in your reality. To be sober, and not numb. To accept fully what it’s like to be in your body. To surrender.

I promise you that when you go through the exercise of being in your courage, each time it gets easier and easier. Eventually the need to be courageous dwindles. Like breathing, it becomes something you can just do.  You will even get to a point where you’ll notice how you respond, and that turns into inspiration. Then, you’re living as you’re meant to.

How to recognize an opinion for what it’s really doing, and what you can do about it

Do you realize that there is very little of you living in this world right now?

Do you know that most of what you say and do is a way of being that is adopted behavior?

Let me explain by making an example of deodorant and anti-perspirants. We all know what they are, we all know why we use them, and we all use them.

But what if I told you you don’t have to use them, that you don’t even need them, and I gave the reason that using these products is just a matter of opinion.

The truth is using deodorant and anti-perspirants are in fact an opinion, and you have adopted it.

Before commercialism there was no deodorant or anti-persperant. There was no market for them to be sold on. There was no way of having them. People didn’t bother making them, because people didn’t think twice about whether or not they needed them. People just were.

The human body does what it’s supposed to do – it’s pretty amazing how it does it. Sweating is a natural way to rid your body of toxins. Biologically it serves a purpose. Physically it’s affected – positively. So why feel guilt or shame? We all do it.

There are some people who love the natural odor their lover emits. Like animals we attract mates by giving off a scent. It’s natural. So why be offended? This proves my point that stinking or not is a matter of opinion. It’s all in the nose of the beholder.

Then, somewhere, some time ago, someone’s feelings got hurt because someone probably called them a name, like stinky. That someone was most likely upset for some reason like jealousy or feeling betrayed, and told them they stunk. And the receiver of these remarks probably took offense, or felt guilt or shame for being stinky – whether they commited those acts or not isn’t really relevant.

What is relevant is how the resultant fear based behaviors got locked in. The question is why did the person take offense? The question is why did they flood with guilt or shame – just for being themselves?

And then those feelings and reactions were passed down to you. They have been imprinted in your DNA, and they have been taught to you by your parents and peers. It’s now hard wired in you to feel this way, and it’s all just a matter of opinion, and not necessarily actual truth.

In my opinion there’s something to all of this that’s being called to be healed. Needed healing that goes beyond the use of deodorant and anti-persperants, beyond what makes us take offense, and what makes us feel guilt and shame. Why have we become so afraid to be ourselves?

The more removed we have become from our natural ways, the less we realize we are not living as ourselves. The less you become, the less truth you recognize.

At some point – your soul calls out for a part of its truth to be brought back to it. It may not be about natural body odor, but it may be about why we feel unhappy deep down, despite what we have, and why we are constantly trying to fix that. It’s about all of that negative self talk in our heads, and why we need to be perfect, why we wait for special occasions to act on something, and why we can’t lose the last 5 lbs. It’s about why we keep attracting the wrong relationships, and why our parental relationships are so distorted or complicated.

Each time you allow someones opinion to infiltrate you, each time you adopt their ways and opinions – you give a piece of your self (your soul) away. You are giving away your truth. You are saying that’s ok, I don’t need my self, I’m not worth that much. And you spin the degeneration momentum.

Being ready to break the cycle, and returning your souls pieces back to you – overcomes the dilemma, and heals you Mind Body and Spirit.

There are many belief systems that we operate under, and once in a while one rears it’s head and demands you take notice. When this happens, when you can’t get something off your mind, and you keep questioning it from every angle, ready for answers – you are ready to let go of a belief system that is not in alignment with who you truly are.

What if I told you that re-storying your beliefs, letting go of unwanted habits, changing your mindset, and getting closer to your truest self is possible? What if I told you it is possible to overcome the negative feelings that are deeply rooted in your DNA and be able to act out your life as you desire – with no hang-ups, questions, or doubts? What if I told you that when you do this, your overall health and wellness is greatly impacted positively.
