Introducing new RAA Teacher, Lisa Karasek!

Does this describe you? You’re beginning to wake up to some long hidden sides of yourself that you didn’t realize affected you, or the way you do life. Now what?
You ask questions. And you scrutinize those questions with a fine-toothed comb.

As you begin to explore the depths of your soul’s desires, and maybe even your purpose for this sudden awareness, you will need to build in some structure and some organization to your process.

What I have found is most people identify with concepts, but they don’t actually attempt the work behind turning the concept into something real and tangible for themselves.

I invite you to explore your personal beliefs, and determine what consciousness work will do for you. Each of us behave from beliefs, habits, mechanisms, and patterns that we have adopted from our relationships. We also carry with us what has been handed down to us from our ancestors. There is a lot in this lifetime alone that you could explore – like issues around social stigmatizing, family dynamics, environmental and cultural influences, and more.

There are places inside all of us that stir up struggle. If you find yourself asking big questions when you’re hurting, then this is a class for you. I invite you to join me for my new class, Consciousness Mapping, where we will address your personal traumatic imprint, provide positive exercises for you to identify what it is ready to be healed, and learn how you can turn your heart’s desires into a positive healing journey.

About the class:

The process of Consciousness Mapping helps you to understand on a deep level why you make the decisions you do, uncover the roots of your “triggers,” and helps you shift to a powerful, aligned state of being.

Develop and nurture your personal experience by connecting to your authentic truth and purpose. Healing, and overcoming limiting beliefs are mindfully conscious practices that will align you positively with your soul’s deepest desires.

In this class you will:

  • Learn how life events create a map for how you act, be, and do in life
  • Identify how the unspoken dynamics of your relationships affect your ability to live authentically
  • Develop personal strategies for mindfulness and how to apply them

Mapping your conscious awareness provides focus for and more deeply tunes you in to all that is possible.

This process of being human

There I was in the shower, completely exhausted. I’m not gonna make it I thought. I had zero energy left in me.

My arm is in a cast, and my cast is inside a waterproof cover for the shower. The cast is heavy, and my arm is just hanging there. I don’t have the energy to hold it against my belly. My good arm is also heavy. It’s tired and sore. It’s exhausted.

“Limb fatigue is a real thing“ Laura explained to me. She’s a PT, and was explaining to me that the arm I’m using is exhausted from using it so much.

I have limited range of motion. And it’s feeling like dead weight. It’s so sore I don’t even want to try to move it.

It’s been a few days and I need this shower. Since the cast has been on I’ve only had a few. While each one of those were welcomed and a relief, this one is not. I’m talking myself out of exiting the shower. I’m forcing myself to stand under the shower. I try to relax. Try to enjoy it, it’s a treat, I say. I think about a renowned meditation and awareness practice of allowing the water to wash away my stress and let it go down the drain. I don’t need my stress to go down the drain because I’m not feeling stress. What I’m feeling is exhaustion. I feel a century old, and as though not a minute of it has been spent asleep.

But I have slept. I’ve slept a lot. My body is healing.

I don’t want to but I make myself take soap to my skin. The soap feels like it’s 20 pounds heavy. I feel as though I’m pushing 5000 tons of machinery across a field. Usually I finish my showers with two minutes of cold to balance my nervous system and to draw my energy back in. I seriously consider skipping it. I just want out.

When I was done I just stood there. My head was hung low and I made absolutely no attempt. In a whisper I said to my mother “I can’t dry myself. You have to do it.”

She put my hair in the turban, and then she dried my body. We took the precautions of removing the cast cover and I returned to my bed.

I’m not weak. I just don’t have any strength.

And so I am reminded that I am mortal. I am reminded that our bodies get worn. Today, I am not independent. No matter what my calendar says, no matter what my responsibilities and commitments are, or what my agenda is, I must rest myself.

It takes great courage to be one with this process of being human, and not fight it. To see yourself so vulnerable, to feel yourself so vulnerable. It takes courage to be in your truth and to be in your reality. To be sober, and not numb. To accept fully what it’s like to be in your body. To surrender.

I promise you that when you go through the exercise of being in your courage, each time it gets easier and easier. Eventually the need to be courageous dwindles. Like breathing, it becomes something you can just do.  You will even get to a point where you’ll notice how you respond, and that turns into inspiration. Then, you’re living as you’re meant to.

TRE® Experience series beginning in 2020

So many people are looking for ways to heal themselves, to overcome, and move past the things in their lives that bring them down. People are ready for change. People are ready for better. And everyone likes feeling healthy.

I invite you to think back to your first day of school, your first job interview, that big fight with a loved one, being cut off in traffic. Remember the last time you had a really big day, the kind that requires celebrating, like your wedding day.

Why? Because any event or experience (good, or not so good) that causes you to react on a psycho-emotional level has a direct and immediate affect at a neuro-physiolocal level for short or extended periods of time. Let me explain …

These intense and highly emotional events and experiences created charged energy – that is now stored in your body.

Why do we want to care about and acknowledge our charged moments?

Because the continued behavior of failing to acknowledge their effects risks creating stress related diseases, especially when suppressing the not so good ones. I tell my students all the time how simple things – even just stubbing your toe – is traumatic. But I encourage everyone to come up with their own definitions for 1)stress, 2)tension, and 3)trauma.

I am so passionate about helping people be experts for their own health and wellness plan that I created a 4 week series to deepen their healing experience. TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma (physical and emotional). Created by Dr. David Berceli TRE® safely activates your natural reflexive mechanism by way of neurophysiological rebalancing. And the most commonly reported benefits are decreased anxiety, the release of chronic tension, the discharge of emotional and physical trauma, improved sleep, mood and digestion, decreased aches and pains, improved flexibility, and the decrease in symptoms for sciatica, fibromyalgia, and other chronic conditions.

TRElogo-1

Individuals and communities around the world feel the
benefits of this modality for healing.

In this series, you will deeply explore your personal trauma time-line; determine your level of traumatic imprint; learn about the importance for properly discharging stored energy to create new emotional pathways and speeding up your recovery time; and how this modality for healing restores your Mind Body Spirit to wholeness – and more. Each class is a combination of education, self discovery, group discussion, and a group TRE® experience.

I’ve become an observer to my own self

So I took this course where every day you clear something. Because I was feeling a bit stuck, and unmotivated.

We cycle, right. I mean we all do – our emotions. We have good days and bad, strong, and vulnerable, motivated types, and days where we just want to be blah.

Well I had too many blah days adding up, and I knew I had to find something, bring in a fresh set of eyes to help me figure out why I was feeling so blah. Life was mundane, and I wanted more.

I was planning on journaling through it anyway – and I am so glad that I did. It’s so much more than about clearing “stuff”. It really brought me in touch with reasons for why I do certain things. And you know me – I’m all about processing.

And processing – WOW! Why am I like this?

As a result I’ve become an observer to my own self – my habits and patterns in a way that I hadn’t before. I learned something I didn’t want to come to terms with, even though I had the hunch that I might have been doing it. I thought I was special, and not like everyone else. But I am just like everyone else – and I am living under the adoption of someone else’s fears.

I was walking my dog this morning – this is when things become most clear for me – fresh air, trees, a relaxing stroll – at other times the intended walk for fitness, and the compassion for this creature that I care for. My focus on the compassion towards my dog doesn’t feel like it fits in there, does it? But it does! Because I have to exhibit patience, restraint, leadership, and caution for him – I’m on a different level of doing than I do for myself. These little mundane tasks bring me back into perspective to why I do what I do for you.

At about 265 days in, and I began to ask the bigger questions, and they were highly personal. I mean that was my goal for taking the course, but I took note that I was in fact doing that. I began challenging myself.

Something that is in my father that I don’t agree with, is inside of me.

All the experts say that people are in your life to teach you, and to recognize that when you don’t like something about someone, that it’s actually something that you don’t like about yourself. It’s a mirror behavior.

I don’t feel like my father and I have much in common – we have different religious and political agendas, we have totally different ways of operating tasks. But we do have a similar sense of independence. And we (have) similar attitudes when it comes to why to get something done. And that last one – the attitude – I always used to think I liked that, that it bonded us. But this attitude as much as I enjoy it – it just doesn’t work for me anymore. It was creating friction, and I was genuinely confused as to how to approach this.

I don’t remember it being a source of friction before, why did it change? Because I changed. I grew. I developed. I shifted. My approach to life is from a new perspective. My stance and reason hold new positions. My father and I have different life experiences after all.

One would think that a new way for doing life, for improving life, and recognizing where it comes from should be easy to do – but I found it to be a bit hard. Yes, I struggled with it. Because in order to do so, I had to let my father inside me go, and I had to meet my self. I got to create who I really want to be. …This is not the same as figuring out what you want to be when you grow up.

Creating who you are to become is to be done gently, mindfully, strategically – because you’re wise now. You now understand what consequences means. You’ve felt failure, fear, and you built a wall around your heart for protection. Creating who you are to become means you become vulnerable – to the nth degree. It means you have to be creative, willing, and ready. You know you have to tear down those walls, only to build new ones. You teeter on creativity because you think you need a template. You learned those lessons – now you have to go through them again, but expect different outcomes. Because you can’t undo.

Back to processing – It was enough motivation for me to realize that my attitude wasn’t mine – for me to want to change it. I like to be responsible. I like to say I’m authentic. I want to speak from my heart – not anyone else’s. And that means this part of me was calling to be healed, and I opened myself up to my purpose.

Purpose! That’s another one. Purpose isn’t about a career change, or job, or title – it’s about why we’re here. It’s about teaching the unconditional language of LOVE. It’s about unity, and harmony.

And to love others, you must first love yourself. And this is a process.

So me honoring my true self, discovering, creating who I really am and who I want to be in life, so that I can do in life. And you can too.

Just do it. Nope. It doesn’t work that way. There are layers to sift through. Tools are needed to cut through the stains (wounds). Relationships change as you shift, and others don’t make the cut. There’s constant adjustment happening. You’re always learning. You’re always adapting. The key is to keep strategizing.

How exciting is that?! To allow the innocence to lead you. That’s the part I’m excited about – the changing. I’m stepping into my innocence. Because at too young an age I was told to instead step forth with fear. And I have been imprisoned ever since. My attitude was to go in strong, and demand my presence. To be a force. To make sure everyone knew what I needed.

So many people take me for being a strong woman. And really, I do still agree – I am strong, because I did overcome – a lot. But I want more peace in my life now. I no longer want to always have to be up against the resistance. My energy has always flowed out, and I’m growing tired. Like everyone I have a self-care practice, but it’s more than that. My true self is a peaceful woman. She’s ready to face whatever, because of her wisdom. She can do so with grace because she’s had lessons. People emulate her because she has the where-with-all. It isn’t really strong when it comes from fear. Now, I feel, it is stronger to approach from Love. And that’s almost uncommon. It’s not what we see on TV. It’s not in the streets. Fear creates drive. But Love is a driver. Love is a force much easier to receive with, once you learn how easy it feels. It’s easier to give with Love, if only you’re brave enough to really try it, step into it.
