So many people are looking for ways to heal themselves, to overcome, and move past the things in their lives that bring them down. People are ready for change. People are ready for better. And everyone likes feeling healthy.

I invite you to think back to your first day of school, your first job interview, that big fight with a loved one, being cut off in traffic. Remember the last time you had a really big day, the kind that requires celebrating, like your wedding day.

Why? Because any event or experience (good, or not so good) that causes you to react on a psycho-emotional level has a direct and immediate affect at a neuro-physiolocal level for short or extended periods of time. Let me explain …

These intense and highly emotional events and experiences created charged energy – that is now stored in your body.

Why do we want to care about and acknowledge our charged moments?

Because the continued behavior of failing to acknowledge their effects risks creating stress related diseases, especially when suppressing the not so good ones. I tell my students all the time how simple things – even just stubbing your toe – is traumatic. But I encourage everyone to come up with their own definitions for 1)stress, 2)tension, and 3)trauma.

I am so passionate about helping people be experts for their own health and wellness plan that I created a 4 week series to deepen their healing experience. TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma (physical and emotional). Created by Dr. David Berceli TRE® safely activates your natural reflexive mechanism by way of neurophysiological rebalancing. How to recognize an opinion for what it’s really doing, and what you can do about it

Do you realize that there is very little of you living in this world right now?

Do you know that most of what you say and do is a way of being that is adopted behavior?

Let me explain by making an example of deodorant and anti-perspirants. We all know what they are, we all know why we use them, and we all use them.

But what if I told you you don’t have to use them, that you don’t even need them, and I gave the reason that using these products is just a matter of opinion.

The truth is using deodorant and anti-perspirants are in fact an opinion, and you have adopted it.

Before commercialism there was no deodorant or anti-persperant. There was no market for them to be sold on. There was no way of having them. People didn’t bother making them, because people didn’t think twice about whether or not they needed them. People just were.

The human body does what it’s supposed to do – it’s pretty amazing how it does it. Sweating is a natural way to rid your body of toxins. Biologically it serves a purpose. Physically it’s affected – positively. So why feel guilt or shame? We all do it.

There are some people who love the natural odor their lover emits. Like animals we attract mates by giving off a scent. It’s natural. So why be offended? This proves my point that stinking or not is a matter of opinion. It’s all in the nose of the beholder.

Then, somewhere, some time ago, someone’s feelings got hurt because someone probably called them a name, like stinky. That someone was most likely upset for some reason like jealousy or feeling betrayed, and told them they stunk. And the receiver of these remarks probably took offense, or felt guilt or shame for being stinky – whether they commited those acts or not isn’t really relevant.

What is relevant is how the resultant fear based behaviors got locked in. The question is why did the person take offense? The question is why did they flood with guilt or shame – just for being themselves?

And then those feelings and reactions were passed down to you. They have been imprinted in your DNA, and they have been taught to you by your parents and peers. It’s now hard wired in you to feel this way, and it’s all just a matter of opinion, and not necessarily actual truth.

In my opinion there’s something to all of this that’s being called to be healed. Needed healing that goes beyond the use of deodorant and anti-persperants, beyond what makes us take offense, and what makes us feel guilt and shame. Why have we become so afraid to be ourselves?

The more removed we have become from our natural ways, the less we realize we are not living as ourselves. The less you become, the less truth you recognize.

At some point – your soul calls out for a part of its truth to be brought back to it. It may not be about natural body odor, but it may be about why we feel unhappy deep down, despite what we have, and why we are constantly trying to fix that. It’s about all of that negative self talk in our heads, and why we need to be perfect, why we wait for special occasions to act on something, and why we can’t lose the last 5 lbs. It’s about why we keep attracting the wrong relationships, and why our parental relationships are so distorted or complicated.

Each time you allow someones opinion to infiltrate you, each time you adopt their ways and opinions – you give a piece of your self (your soul) away. You are giving away your truth. You are saying that’s ok, I don’t need my self, I’m not worth that much. And you spin the degeneration momentum.

Being ready to break the cycle, and returning your souls pieces back to you – overcomes the dilemma, and heals you Mind Body and Spirit.

There are many belief systems that we operate under, and once in a while one rears it’s head and demands you take notice. When this happens, when you can’t get something off your mind, and you keep questioning it from every angle, ready for answers – you are ready to let go of a belief system that is not in alignment with who you truly are.

What if I told you that re-storying your beliefs, letting go of unwanted habits, changing your mindset, and getting closer to your truest self is possible? What if I told you it is possible to overcome the negative feelings that are deeply rooted in your DNA and be able to act out your life as you desire – with no hang-ups, questions, or doubts? The accumulative affect is at work, but there is a reference point for self care

We are all, always, being subjected to some kind of upset – some more severe, some more pertaining than others. 

There are 2 distinct definitions for trauma as a noun that can be found from a dictionary source:
1. a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. An emotional shock following a stressful event or physical injury. 
Synonyms: disturbance. disorder. jolt. ordeal. trial. trouble. worry. anxiety. burden. adversity. hardship. 
And the associations of these may lead to: shock. upheaval. distress. stress. strain. pain. anguish. upset. suffering. agony. misery. sorrow. grief. heartache. heart break.  
2. (medical) any injury, damage, hurt, wound, sore, bruise, cut, laceration, lesion, abrasion, or contusion.

Think about your day. What have you experienced today? 
Can you reference a recent time when you experienced any of these? 

The accumulative affect is at work. So even though today may only feel slightly stressful, and may only have a few distressing occurrences – in time, these add up. 

Then there are shared traumas – among family members, classmates, neighbors, friends, strangers. 
There is local trauma, and specific trauma. Religious trauma and Historical trauma. Cultural trauma, Gender trauma, Ethnic trauma, and Environmental trauma. There is human trauma, and there is soul trauma. 

Yes, we are resilient. We are becoming normalized to it. We are also fighting it. 
No matter the trigger or hook, no matter the degree of devastation or not – we are subjected. Whether we claim it or not – it’s there. It is present. It is inside of us. 

We have a sound principal inside of us – to be free, to be right, to be well. It is our duty and our responsibility – to safeguard our authenticity. To release what does not serve us, that which is not necessary.

Are you ready?

I “came out of the closet” as a healer only recently – as I grew comfortable referring to myself as a Quantum Healer.

As you could probably imagine – me, an ordinary and common girl living in a big city, surrounded by adopted (stubborn) values and opinions of all kinds, with no big world adventures under her belt, and no real connection to what I thought at the time was something that only “special” people did. All I was thinking at the time was I wanted somethng bigger for myself.

Something kept turning me. When I would begin to walk down the path I was accustomed to, something always caught my attention and made me curious, made me want to explore a different path with different views. And I did that inner work, and I became detective, and I wanted to understand what was really driving me. Eventually I relaxed into trusting. I even remember saying out loud I have no idea why i am doing this, it’s like I’m crazy. But I went for it. Now, it feels more than right, and it feels good to be able to support myself in what I believe I have been called to be and do.

For everything there is a process and only those who have decided to make such a big and life changing move understand that this is so much more than changing offices, job titles, or companies – this is about listening to that call. Deciding to say no to all the distractions, all the fears (even the good kind of fears, like is this really a smart move? How will I pay my bills?), and all of the comforts we are so nestled in definitely speaks to who we are and what we are capable of. And in order to pull all that off you need bravery in your pocket.

We are all on a mission – to be happy, to feel love, and to live the life of our dreams. Deciding to stop listening to everyone, to stop accomodating, to postpone no more, and to begin to do from what feels right (not from what’s right, or smart by other peoples standards), and to start exploring the possiblities and moving forward towards a new reality – is a huge deal! You have to allow yourself to become, to embrace, really it’s allowing vulnerability – in the most vulnerable of ways. You have to have new and consistent dialogues with yourself, checking in, and really feel into what’s right. Becasue chances are what you’re exploring – doesn’t have a compass or a roadmap. Chances are no one’s been there before. You have only yourself to rely on. And the best way to keep your footing while on the journey – is to find the support you absolutely need.

It’s great if a loved one or best friend knows how to support you unconditionally, always able to pick you up when you feel you chose an impossible mission – but the reality is we need to be able to find what we need in our own selves – in our own hearts and brains, in our own guts and emotions. It can often feel dark in there – but we have to tap into that drive that will bring us into our light.

Guidance on tapping into your own authentic desires, releasing the conditioning habits and patterns that no longer align with our desires, and truly healing ourselves from everything that has brought us to this point so that we can move forward easily and comfortably is all a necessary part of the process. And you absolutely can do this yourself – but there will always be moments when you will have questions, and in need of a fresh perspective. Aligning yourself Mind Body and Spirit is the order you’re looking at.

Fundraiser to stop human trafficking in Maryland

I began volunteering for Araminta a few years ago. 
It is very important to me to help you understand how truly amazing this organization is. 
Most causes are dedicated to recovering individuals from their situations. 
Araminta goes beyond, and above that call. They provide all things a survivor may need once they have left their situation. They pair the survivors with mentors and make sure every single one of their critical needs are met – for them and their children. Every single thing from medical care, therapy, clothing, housing, and schooling and care for their children. Survivors are provided food, transportation for their appointments, support in every place imaginable – courts, etc. We help them build their lives from a stable point.

Araminta is a volunteer based organization and they are in need of so much, all of the time.

On February 15th the practitioners at Nourishing Journey are donating their time and their talents to raise money that Araminta needs to continue their mission. In addition to services there will also be an education room with speakers on different subjects throughout the event.

Fundraiser to stop human trafficking in Maryland

Araminta Freedom Initiative is a Baltimore based, non-profit organization dedicated to awakening, equipping, and mobilizing the Church and community in Maryland to end human trafficking through education, prevention strategies, and restorative survivor services. Our vision is to see every child free from human trafficking.

On February 15th Nourishing Journey is hosting a fundraiser to support Araminta – all proceeds from the event are going to Araminta to help meet critical needs.

You can participate by purchasing one (20 minute) service for $20, OR three (20 mine services) for $50.
There will also be informative discussions and workshops throughout the event.
